Well, it is almost here! I haven't blogged in some time. Lots going on with work and preparing for the trip, then there's life in general. Before you know it....almost 2 months have gone by. This process of preparation for Ethiopia has been one I will never forget. There are the shots; I had to have 9 shots all in all and my daughter had to have 5 because she is in school and gets them already regularly. There are the pills for both nausea and for Malaria that have now been purchased. Tonight I sprayed down our clothes with Permethrin, which will help keep the mosquitoes away, we also had our last meeting with the group to go over some final details and finish packing up supplies. Come Sunday, it will be time to "GO BEYOND"! We are both so excited beyond belief at this opportunity that God has given us to make a difference in the lives of others.
Also in preparation; we have gone into a 3 week fast to sacrifice and to stay dependant upon God and what His will is for our group and each individual during this mission. My child fasted from snack cakes (believe me, that's saying a lot!)....and I fasted from coffee and soda (it was touch and go there for awhile LOL). It is amazing how much you can learn and grow during a fast; praying instead, when the thought of that thing you are fasting from enters your mind. I have been able to see things a lot more clearly. The other day, when things were going wrong left and right, I finally realized it was just the enemy that was trying to discourage me; he would rather me concentrate on the frustrations of life rather than the Glory of God and how faithful HE is! I feel I have been changed and I haven't even stepped foot on the plane yet; I can only imagine what is to come!
